Your coupon life...

How to get started:

1. Purchase 1 or more Sunday papers. You can also ask friends or family to save their inserts for you.

2. Pull out the coupon inserts. Clip coupons for items you need/use. (some use a clip-less system.) Do not get rid of the rest of the coupon insert. File them in a spot that works for you. I use a big wicker basket in my hall closet.

3. Pull out the sales flyers. You can also preview future store ads online to see what's coming. I circle the deals and match up with coupons (and store rewards). You can also check for printable coupons online.

4. Organize those coupons! organization is key! I use the binder method. I have a large zip up binder with various pockets. I have tab dividers with baseball card sleeves in each section to store the coupon. This makes them easy to see and the binder is not something small that's easy to forget, and it sits nicely in the shopping cart to be able to flip through. I keep scissors, pens, markers, notepad, and a calculated in my binder.

5. Map out your plan by store. List what you plan to get with coupon discounts, etc. Calculate your transaction on paper.

It truly pays to be organized and have a plan.

You're off to a great start.
